Hi! My name is Katherine. I'm in a graduate program for costume design and technology. Over the years I have been trying to find a way to display my work in a format that works for me, one that feels like I can walk the viewers through my journey. Typically I have maintained a portfolio that is mostly pictures. This works for so many artists and is a beautiful way to communicate their skills and passions for their craft, but its not for me. As I continue working and evolving, I found myself doing loads of research and loving it. And it turns out that I'm not too bad at it either.
When I was beginning to discover my love for historic clothing, many of the people I looked up to in the field were and are bloggers. They taught me so much and inspired me to start sewing. Recently I've been exploring ways to positively impact audiences when they interact with period clothing whether that's online or in a museum. For me, blogs were part of the beginning and I hope this blog can do the same. I hope it can inspire learning and a can-do attitude among the people that come across it.
